Models vs. Actors information
Academy of style is committed to upgrading the lives of the students we teach.  Learning style, etiquette, manners, posture, life skills, and more,  provide our students with valuable skills to take into the work force and everyday life.  Our director's mission is not just to just teach modeling and acting, but to instill in young people self confidence and abilities to aid them in their future, no matter what their career choice.  Our graduates become whatever they would like to be, because they know they can!  Our owners Tonia and Wayne Crews care deeply about each and every student, and offer free advice and help with any questions families may have along the way, using positive praise and encouragement to motivate them.

Parents are encouraged to attend free parent seminars,  to ask questions about the business, so we can design a strategy that helps families reach their highest potential.  Currently serving the Lancaster area, Tonia can be seen in local schools and community events with her models, and on tv as a fashion & makeup expert.  She encourages students to participate in local free events like fashion shows, parades, and community events for practice, which helps students feel comfortable in front of an audience.

Come see our International Countries show, at the City of Lancaster Poppy Festival each April, located on the International Stage.  Models perform daily fashion shows both days, and Wayne's sword students also perform with the "Deadly Dance" on stage.  2012 marks the 5th year for this annual event, showcasing our students.  For more information on the festival, go to www.poppyfestival.com.

Tonia with her models, before the Poppy festival show 2008.
MODELS:  Should be tall (5'9" min), with long legs for runway, and perfect, straight teeth for commercials & print.  PLUS SIZE models:  Should be tall (5'9" min) and well proportioned, with long legs, even though they are larger sizes 12-22.  Good skin, nails, teeth always.
MALE models:  Should be tall (5'11-6'3"), thin and well built with muscular, athletic bodies and great skin.  Commercial hosts: Should read well, have no accent, and be able to improv or interview others well. KIDS: Cute personalities and ability to speak like adults are key for commercials and acting parts.  Print for ads is another area children can participate in, with requirements similar to  models above, without height requirements.

ACTORS:  Commercial actors appear in commercials,  magazines, billboards, and host shows.  You should have an interest in performing and not be shy.  Dramatic Actors who are small, delicately boned, and who play "younger" roles are in high demand for television and film, as well as "edgy" street types, tough guys, and odd looking characters.  Extreme sports daredevils and athletes do very well in commercials for product endorsements, while serious, artsy type kids may do well in film.  Ask Tonia about paying for college with TV commercials!  Call today for a FREE evaluation.  We love families who do commercials together, so bring the group!

We are NOT an agency or management company, and do not supply jobs for you.  All jobs in entertainment are by audition, so only YOU can guarantee the job by showing up, and being professional. We just show you how!
